Job Title: Attendance and Welfare OfficerLocation: Hackney, LondonSalary: Temp: £16-£20 per hour Perm: Circa £30,000Job Type: Full-time, Temporary/Permanent
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor and manage student attendance, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
* Work closely with students, parents, and staff to address attendance issues and implement strategies to improve attendance rates.
* Provide support and guidance to students facing welfare issues, including mental health, family concerns, and other personal challenges.
* Liaise with external agencies and professionals to provide comprehensive support for students.
* Develop and implement policies and procedures related to attendance and welfare.
* Prepare and present reports on attendance and welfare matters to senior leadership and governors.
* Promote a positive school culture that prioritises student well-being and engagement.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
* Strong understanding of attendance management and welfare support.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and external agencies.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
