Core Responsibilities
* Act as one of the sites Senior Authorised Persons, carrying out High Voltage Switching on equipment, producing, and checking switching schedules.
* Lead on the High Voltage system maintenance and carry out regular testing on equipment.
* Supporting the effective reliability, availability, operation and maintenance of the active operational infrastructure and associated supply systems across the TBAG assets.
* Providing expert specialist and technical engineering advice to the Engineering Manager and deputising both internally and externally.
* Guidance on the implementation of TBAG Investment and asset management strategy in the short, medium, and long term.
* Proactive leadership to facilitate delivery of specific programmes including delivery of TBAG capital programme, TBAG maintenance programme, TBAG training/development programme and the execution of the TBAG gate trial and testing programme.
* Assisting the development of all TBAG Engineering strategies and policies.
* Undertaking a Thames Barrier Incident Role.
* Explore new areas of technology and lead on introducing training for staff on partial discharging testing across the sites HV switch gear, cables, and joints.

Standby Payments role for a 1in2 week standby for incident role – approximately 26 weeks per annum 26 x £167.62 = £4358
CNI Allowance (When trained and competent in incident role) - £3000
TBAG STA High Voltage Engineer SAP MFF (When signed off as competent) - £15,000
The Team
Joining our friendly and essential London MEICA team you will report directly to the Engineering Manager, working alongside an experienced team to carry out operations and planned / reactive maintenance ensuring the reliability of equipment and machinery and HV equipment across Thames Tidal Defences assets.
Experience/Skills Required
* Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Engineering Technology CEng
* Experienced with high voltage switching.
* Experienced with creating and writing switching schedules.
* Experienced in HV maintenance and safety procedures.
* Knowledge of managing maintenance contracts and projects.
* Excellent knowledge of Electrical Standards and Regulations.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role making yourself available to respond to incidents/provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment, full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
