The Role
We are looking for a Finance Manager to support the Finance Director in the day-to-day operations of the Finance department, based at our March site (PE15 0BL). This role could be either full time or part time (4 days per week).
The Finance Manager is responsible for producing monthly management accounts, reconciliations, variance analysis, annual budgets, reforecasts, and overseeing payroll. The Finance Manager will also work closely with colleagues across the business to provide financial guidance and support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Produce monthly management accounts within five working days, including variance analysis against Flash and Budget / Forecast.
* Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and produce weekly cashflow forecasts.
* Provide insightful financial information to aid senior management decision-making, including working capital improvements and effectiveness of spend.
* Support the preparation of the annual budget and reforecasts.
* Oversee HMRC filings and payments including VAT return.
* Prepare draft annual financial accounts and support the audit process.
* Manage payroll reporting, sales ledger, purchase ledger, credit card expenses, and fixed asset register.
* Ensure accurate bank reconciliations, efficient cash management, and an effective control environment.
* Supervise and support a finance team member, ensuring effective task management and professional development.
* Drive operational excellence and continuously improve processes.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
* A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or be part-qualified with relevant experience.
* Experience in manufacturing finance (preferred but not essential).
* Previous experience managing or mentoring staff.
* Strong administration, time management, and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide timely, insightful financial information.
