An amazing secondary school/ pupil referral unit in Chorley is seeking an experienced teaching assistant to start as soon as possible!
The school provides a specialist learning environment for pupils aged 10 - 16 with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH), and class sizes are small - with only 6 students maximum in each class.
The school is ideally looking for someone with experience supporting pupils in an SEN or PRU setting and who can support pupils demonstrating challenging behaviour. The ideal candidate for this teaching assistant role will demonstrate resilience and confidence when developing relationships with SEMH pupils.
The school requires a teaching assistant to start as soon as possible until July 2025, with the potential for a contract with the school.
The role will involve working school hours from 8.30 am to 3.30 pm, with rates of pay available from £90 to £110, depending upon experience. Tradewind proudly pays directly via PAYE through our own amazing in-house payroll team, without the need to sign up with a third-party umbrella company.
Responsibilities as part of this teaching assistant role include:
1. Within an agreed system of supervision, work with teachers to support teaching and learning, providing specialist support to maximize pupil development and achievement.
2. Provide and deliver learning activities for individuals and groups of pupils under the professional direction and supervision of a qualified teacher, differentiating and adapting learning programmes to suit the needs of allocated pupils.
3. Provide specialist support to pupils with learning, behavioural, communication, social, sensory, or physical difficulties.
4. Escort and supervise pupils on out-of-school activities, using own initiative to deal with issues that arise and maintaining good order and standards of behaviour.
