Facilities Officer
* Salary: £28,760
* Start Date: January 2025
* Contract: Permanent 37.5 hours per week
* Hours: 9am to 5.30pm
You will be required to work closely with the other members of the Facilities Team to perform maintenance, security, health & safety, and other general site services to ensure a clean, safe, and high-quality environment.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
1. Perform general repairs and maintenance as needed, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, lighting, and to undertake the direct repair of fabric, services and fittings as appropriate to the role.
2. Using the in-house Facilities helpdesk software (e.g. Every) to log and report technical faults, and ensure tasks and requests are dealt with in a timely manner.
3. Ensuring the maintenance of fire and other safety equipment, and emergency equipment; the safe storage of any potentially harmful materials and that there is appropriate and effective signposting.
4. Help maintain inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies and equipment.
5. Office moves, furniture moves, setting up and breaking down rooms for events.
6. Ensure accurate and detailed handover information is provided whenever a task is left incomplete, passed on to another staff member, or in the case of an unplanned absence.
7. Perform minor landscaping and snow removal duties as needed.
8. Coordinating drivers, vehicles, loads and journeys when necessary.
9. Co-ordinating parking availability, security passes and the booking in of visitors and clients. Issuing of ID and access badges for new hires/vendors/visitors and maintaining ID records.
10. Observe correct security procedures for goods deliveries.
11. Always demonstrate a high level of security awareness. Have knowledge of emergency evacuation procedures, and procedures for visits from local authorities.
12. Support the Lead Facilities Officer in performing H&S duties to ensure a safe work environment, including performing weekly walkthroughs to ensure all areas are clean, and well-maintained.
13. Perform regular checks of medical room including first aid supplies.
14. Prepare appropriate Facilities documents and reports when necessary.
15. Provide support and cover on reception when necessary. Manage deliveries and collections, sort, record, and distribute mail.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Good numeracy/literacy skills, and a good command of English.
2. Minimum of Maths and English GCSE at Grade C or equivalent.
3. A record of Continuous Professional Development or a willingness to undertake CPD relevant to the role.
4. Relevant maintenance, or construction qualification(s).
5. First Aid qualification, or willingness to undergo First Aid Training.
