Support Worker Wrexham, Part-Time hours, manual UK driving license essential We are currently recruiting for kind and caring Support Workers to work for a national learning disabilities charity with local services based in Llay, Ponciau and Coed y Glynn in Wrexham. Founded in 1966, MacIntyre provides learning, support and care for more than 1,200 children, young people and adults who have a learning disability and / or autism all over the UK. An opportunity has arisen in one of our Wrexham services, specifically for candidates who hold a UK manual driving license. This is an occupational requirement because you may be required to drive the person s manual Mobility vehicle to the local community, such as to the shops, hospital appointments, football matches, the park, beach etc. Due to mobility insurance requirements, you must have held your driving license for a minimum of 2 years. You will be supporting people in their own homes to live gloriously ordinary lives. This can involve supporting someone to keep their homes clean and tidy, to cook, wash, plan weekends and evenings, take care of a garden space, take part in hobbies and develop new interests, access and explore their local community. Our focus is placed on people s wellbeing and fulfilment and this role can be extremely rewarding for someone looking to give back to their local community. If you hold a NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or a higher qualification, your pay will rise to 12.20 per hour. You will have the opportunity to complete these qualifications whilst working with MacIntyre. This means, on a full-time contract, your annual salary will be 23,463 - 23,854 depending on qualifications. In addition to your annual salary, you ll have the opportunity to work sleep-ins at an extra 65 per night. This adds an extra 3,380 to your annual salary if you do 1 sleep in a week. You must however have a resilient, patient and compassionate attitude as there may be times where you will need to help Sarah control and regulate her emotions and anxiety in line with her Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plan.
