Overview
Your key responsibilities as a Business Analyst are to understand business change needs, assess the relative value and impact of those changes, capture, analyze, and document requirements, and then support the communication and delivery of those requirements with relevant parties.
This is a highly collaborative role in which you will work closely with representatives from all areas of the business, including software development teams. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand and help develop their processes and increase capability within their business areas.
Although primarily focused internally, you will at times be required to facilitate workshops, capture requirements, and manage change initiatives with third-party suppliers, Zen's partners, or direct customers.
As a member of the Business Analysis team, you will work to identify challenges and opportunities for improvement that are common across divisions and shared functions. You will work closely with other Business Analysts, Product Owners, Project Managers, Engineering Managers, Developers, Architects, and other key stakeholders to develop these into strategic business and system improvement plans.
The ideal candidate must be comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy. They will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to pull together teams made up of a diverse range of individuals to produce solutions that are fully supported by all involved.
The ideal candidate will also have good analytical skills, a logical and pragmatic approach to problem-solving, and the ability to think laterally and challenge the norm.
Key Responsibilities
1. Eliciting problem statements and developing plans to address them with a view to achieving operational efficiency, reducing or removing duplication and cost, and improving customer experience and service delivery.
2. Leading and facilitating cross-functional workshops to aid the understanding of problems, design of changes, and re-engineering of processes.
3. Analyzing and modeling business activities, including their performance, and presenting findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
4. Collating and analyzing data from multiple sources and presenting findings.
5. Contributing to process and cost models to support business decision-making.
6. Supporting and contributing to the development of business cases.
7. Documenting and clearly communicating business, functional, and non-functional requirements to relevant business and technical stakeholders.
8. Working closely with Product Owners to implement system improvements and with other stakeholders to deliver process improvements, including associated acceptance testing and training.
9. Contributing to the identification of cross-division and company improvements by proactively sharing problems, challenges, and areas for improvement from within the Business Analysis Team.
Skills & experiences
1. Able to run cross-company workshops and resolve complex requirement conflicts through effective stakeholder engagement.
2. Structured and logical approach to problem-solving with the ability to quickly analyze and understand a problem and identify practical solutions.
3. Proficient in Agile analysis principles, including practical experience with User Story Mapping.
4. Experience in mapping out existing and future business processes, creating process flow diagrams in Lucid Chart, identifying bottlenecks, and proposing improvements.
5. Perform cost-benefit analysis and contribute to benefits realization.
6. Understands the principles of system and user acceptance testing and the link to requirements documentation and is able to produce relevant scripts.
7. Understands principles of Business and IT strategy and is able to work with senior business stakeholders.
8. Qualifications in Lean, Lean Six-Sigma, and/or BCS/ISEB are beneficial.
9. Exposure to ISO standards including 9001, 14001, and 27001 is beneficial.
10. Previous experience of working in a Telecoms business is beneficial.
