Do you have experience of thinking outside of the box with the best approach to solve problems? If so, come and join EDF, working at the largest construction Project in western Europe, as a Senior Commercial Manager!
The Opportunity
As Senior Commercial Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing commercial risks within the NNB Commercial and Supply Chain Client function, driving effective risk strategies and minimising contractual disputes with HPC suppliers. Working alongside the Senior Commercial Lead, you’ll help steer the Client function towards its goals while collaborating with another Senior Commercial Manager focused on risk and disputes.
Your expertise will be crucial in identifying and mitigating risks on a large-scale project, providing strategic oversight to manage commercial and contractual challenges. You’ll work closely with leadership to ensure actions are tracked and executed, and ensure the right experts, including Forensic Planners and Quantum Experts, are allocated to resolve claims and protect the company’s commercial interests.
Pay, benefits and culture
Alongside a starting salary circa £76,000 and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from the big and formal to the small and personal.
We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.

Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.
We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.
We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll lead and inspire others, driving performance and ensuring targets are met in line with HPC objectives. You’ll empower those you work with and alongside to deliver exceptional results and oversee the implementation of key responsibilities for subject matter experts and commercial support, ensuring adherence to NNB commercial procedures.
As a key point of contact for the Supply Chain Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and project leaders, you’ll play a central role in shaping strategic commercial insights. Your expertise will help HPC identify and mitigate commercial risks, creating value and enabling better decision-making while minimising supply chain risks.
In addition, you’ll lead complex supply chain projects, managing the escalation of disputes and claims. You’ll ensure that Commercial Risk Management is integrated into the broader HPC Risk Model, effectively capturing and reporting on risks to optimize supply chain performance and drive success.
Who you are
You’ll bring a strong understanding of risk management, issue identification, and resolution, with a proven track record in handling NEC & FIDIC contracts, ideally within the power construction industry and major projects.
You’ll have good knowledge of UK law and its impact on contracts and commercial functions, backed by your membership with RICS, CICES, or a similar professional body. Your expertise in contract management and commercial skills will drive best practices and ensure clear, effective decision-making on high-value financial matters.
You’ll work seamlessly across business functions, including site, engineering, supply chain, and commercial teams, fostering collaboration and delivering impactful, risk-focused reporting at the board level. Your ability to redefine stakeholder relationships and implement fresh approaches will drive innovation, creativity, and sustainable change within the organisation.
If this sounds like you then we’d love to hear from you!
