(hybrid role)
If you're in the trade or have ever done DIY, you've probably heard of the Huws Gray Group! We are made up of a number of brands, including Huws Gray, Hirebase, Civils & Lintels, The Timber Group, PDM, NDI and Anglia Tool Centre to name a few. Up and down the UK, our branches and depots are serving and supporting our local communities with all their building needs, but we couldn't do this without the right people, so why not join us?
The Senior Commercial Finance Manager is responsible for ensuring that working capital is optimally deployed within the business, in particular by overseeing the stock holding and rebates receivable balance. The role focuses predominantly on the Merchanting division (the largest Group division) but also has responsibility for promoting best practice across the wider Group.
To succeed in this role, it will be imperative to develop strong working relationships with the Category Management Team, the Commercial Team and the Branch Operations Network. The successful candidate will provide insights and support to enable these colleagues to achieve critical KPIs in their specific area, whilst also being prepared to provide robust challenge when expectations have not been met.
The role sits within the Commercial Finance Team reporting into the Director of Commercial Finance and has line management responsibility for 3 analysts.
Here's a quick overview of some of the things you can expect to do as a Senior Commercial Finance Manager with Huws Gray:
1. Category Management - including monitoring and challenging category performance, preparing analysis to be discussed at weekly trading meetings.
2. Commercial Income - including ensuring supplier rebates and other monies are accurately reflected in the P&L and that the rebate debtor is regularly reviewed to maximise the Groups working capital position.
3. Inventory - including contributing to the Groups optimisation of working capital by supporting Operations in ensuring that branches hold the optimum level of stock.
4. Line management of 3 commercial analysts who are aligned to inventory, commercial income and category management.
5. Provide ad-hoc finance support to Group Commercial and Group Procurement Directors and their direct reports.
We understand you are more than just a CV, embracing everyone's individuality is what makes us great as a team. We can give you plenty of training and development. * 23 days annual leave in addition to recognised public and bank holidays.
* Company car.
* Company pension scheme - in line with auto enrolment.
* Death In Service.
