Design Engineer

We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Design Engineer to contribute to the design and development of new products, from concept to final approval. This role offers the opportunity to technically support customers and our manufacturing base, analyze existing products for improvements, and drive cost reduction initiatives.
About the Role:
Process new design enquiries, ensuring thorough follow-up and timely delivery of quotations/design proposals.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring consistent and effective communication.
Conduct design and engineering analysis, including FEA (dynamic, non-linear), on design projects.
Develop and detail product designs, providing engineering support from concept to manufacturing implementation across various processes.
Manage projects, adhering to industry guidelines, budget constraints, and agreed timelines.
Maintain and adhere to ISO 9001 procedures.
Utilize PTC Creo 3D CAD and MathCAD for design and analysis.
Effectively use the company's MRP and intranet systems.
Develop a deep understanding of our product range and part numbering systems.
Produce high-quality, accurate design output with minimal errors.
Modify existing designs and drawings as needed.
Understand the working concepts of relevant industries.
Collaborate effectively with other departments.
Develop new manufacturing methods and explore new technologies.
About You:

You're detail-oriented, comfortable working under pressure, and adept at managing changing priorities.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Engineering Degree (Mechanical preferred).
Strong knowledge of fundamental mechanical engineering theory and product design.
Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling systems, specifically Creo.
Experience with MathCAD.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and assembly methods.
Experience in a similar design engineering role, ideally within the pressure equipment industry.
Experience designing and manufacturing pressure equipment to recognised standards.
Proven ability to deal directly with customers, prepare technical specifications, and present proposals.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
High level of self-motivation.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to perform detailed design calculations.
Good understanding of material properties and limitations.
Ability to review and check designs from colleagues.

Pay: £42,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
