The Imaging Department at Ashford and St. Peter's Hospital comprises of an Interventional suite, CT, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, DEXA, Mammography and plain film radiography. The MRI service is provided on site by Alliance Medical Limited. There are Imaging Departments at both Ashford and St Peters Hospital and so will require cross site working. We are currently seeking applications from committed registered nurses with an interest in radiology to join our friendly, motivated, and supportive team. We are also looking for an enthusiastic and innovative person to deliver all aspects of nursing care during diagnostic and interventional procedures. We can offer you the opportunity to work in different clinical areas within our division and modalities in the department including CT, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, IR, Recovery and Pre-assessment. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic Imaging team which includes, Radiologists, Radiographers, Nurses, Clerical and Radiology Department Assistants. Main duties of the job The role includes scrub and circulating procedures in interventional room which includes assisting with angiograms, angioplasties, embolization, drainages, biopsies and PICC line insertions to name a few. You will also need to support and participate in other areas in the department including recovery, pre-assessment, admission, and discharge. With further training and competencies, the role includes involvement in administration of intravenous conscious sedation and advance monitoring of patients during procedures. You will also be involved in the care and management of both inpatient and outpatient requiring ultrasound and CT guided procedures. As a part of your role, there will be an opportunity to develop skills in cannulation and venepuncture. You will also be expected to participate in on-call rotation after completion of your competency pack.
