Registered Nurse
Part-Time, 32 hours/week - 11pm-7am
Base Pay: $40.00- $48.00
Differentials: $6 for weekday; $8 for weekend
Essential Functions:
1. Supervises and evaluates all direct resident care and initiates corrective action as necessary.
2. Provides clinical supervision of nursing assistants and Licensed Practical Nurse providing direct resident care.
3. Prepares nursing assistants' assignments and explains all pertinent resident care.
4. Supervises response to residents' calls for assistance and responds to call lights as necessary.
5. Ensures that all physician renewal orders and documentation are timely and appropriate.
6. Obtains report from the nurse he/she is relieving and records sufficient information to implement appropriate follow-up action as necessary.
7. Conducts resident rounds, reporting problems to the nursing supervisor and initiating corrective action.
8. Identifies resident problems and emergency situations, and initiates immediate "life-saving" measures within the scope of nursing practice and in accordance with advance directives.
9. Administers and documents medications, enteral nutrition, and treatments per the physician's order and accurately records all care provided and observations daily.
10. Renders immediate assistance to any resident in need.
11. Provides intravenous therapy according to facility policy and procedures.
Prerequisites:
1. Graduate of an accredited RN school of nursing.
2. Current license in Massachusetts as RN.
3. Knowledge of geriatric nursing required.
4. Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support in accordance with American Heart Association or American Red Cross standards required.
5. Knowledge of growth and development across the life span.
