Duties for the post include the fitting and assembly of complex ground support equipment and flight details for the aerospace industry. To produce components to drawing requirements and tolerances, verifying those components using appropriate measuring equipment. Main Responsibilities Establish job requirements from drawings, production cards or job instruction sheets. Ensure all tooling is in good condition and shelf lifed items are in date prior to commencing job. Carry out operations on components as stated on production card. Ensure that all records relating to the component always accompany the job - drawing, production card. Complete production card for traceability purposes (clock number, quantity completed, etc.) Ensure parts are of a good quality/finish before passing to inspection. Submit component to inspection for confirmation of acceptance where called for on production card. Maintain established time set for job throughout batch. Ensure production and non-running times are recorded via the data collection system. Always operate machinery and equipment in a safe manner and wear appropriate protective clothing/equipment. Any other reasonable duties as requested which are within the capabilities of the postholder. Essential Criteria Time-served Apprenticeship to NVQ Level III or equivalent. 3 yrs post apprenticeship experience Use of traditional measuring equipment Use of Gauging and Jig Fittings.
