Scope - Clarke Energy Ltd
Location - Scotland, West Lothian area
Job Purpose - To overhaul and repair Jenbacher Gas Engines.
Majority of time spent - Mechanical rebuild of reciprocating gas engines.
Responsibilities
1. Work as part of a team to overhaul and repair Jenbacher Gas Engines in accordance with schedules and requirements.
2. Identify and report any faults found during the overhaul of the engines, and the faults discovered during repair.
3. Request parts from stock as necessary.
4. Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
5. Supervise semi-skilled staff and apprentices involved with the overhauls and repairs.
6. Follow and adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and regulations at all times.
7. Ensure that all work areas are kept clean and tidy.
Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills
1. High standard of Engine knowledge and technical understanding.
2. Understanding of Health and Safety issues and requirements, including manual handling.
3. Knowledge of safe working practices.
4. Must have experience of full engine rebuilds.

Recruitment and succession requirements
Essential
1. Time served mechanical engineer, or extensive engine rebuild experience.
2. Experience of major overhauls on reciprocating engines.
3. Full driving license.
Desirable
1. On-site experience of carrying out in-situ repairs and overhauls of reciprocating gas engines.
This role would suit HGV mechanics, engine reconditioners, or heavy plant mechanics looking for a new role.
