PROJECT DEVELOPMENT LEAD ASSOCIATE

MISSION
1. Playing a key role in the land strategy for wind, solar and storage projects in the prospecting phase.
2. Taking a lead role in negotiating and delivering land rights for solar, storage and wind projects
3. Managing ongoing relationships with land stakeholders.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
4. Management of internal land negotiations
5. Representing EDP Renewables professionally, establishing and maintaining good relationships with landowners, tenant farmers, Estate managers, land agents and any others involved in land management on behalf of landowners.
6. Setting up partnerships with external land service providers and participating in competitive tender processes.
7. Familiarity with and being able to understand farming and forestry economics and regulations
8. Attending consultations and meetings with stakeholder groups
9. Liaising with and managing in-house and external gird, technical, legal, GIS, Planning and development resource.
10. Technical support for project managers on land issues, definition of land strategies with project managers, anticipation of land issues, handling of land issues in coordination with the legal and engineering departments.
11. Supporting the project managers in the ending phase of the final leases (notary, surveyor, etc.)
12. Implementation of procedures related to storage, solar and wind farm land issues.
REQUIRED PROFILE
13. ACADEMIC LEVEL
Educated to Degree level. Ideally qualified in a suitable subject (rural surveying, Estate Management).
Chartered Surveyor status is preferable
14. REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
3 - 5 years’ experience in solar, storage and/ or wind project development from a land management perspective
15. SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE
16. Strong negotiation skills and experience of concluding land transactions
17. Good understanding of forestry, farming and commercial property sectors, sustainability and land management
18. Experience of the w solar, storage and/ or wind development process
19. Good client-facing skills and able to communicate complex and technical information and concepts to non-technical third parties.
20. Broad knowledge of investment, valuations and funding of projects
21. Good presentation skills
22. Microsoft Office Package

Fluent English
24. SKILLS / COMPETENCES
25. A driving license is essential
26. Previous land surveying experience, ideally in Renewables
27. Excellent negotiation, presenting and communication skills
28. Able to work independently as well as a kay part of a team
29. Excellent written English and report writing skills
30. Capable organisation skills and a collaborative and skilled communicator
