Ward Intelligent Security Solutions are recruiting a Management Accountant that demonstrates attention to detail, alongside strong financial and analytical skills. This position will be based at our head office in Chatham.
Main duties will include being responsible for production of monthly management accounts, as well as assisting with maintaining strong financial controls, financial analysis, timely and accurate reporting, and assistance with budget preparation. This role reports directly to the Finance Director – Solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare monthly management accounts to include departmental profit and loss statements and balance sheet.
2. Review and completion of month end processes, in line with management timetable, including monthly accruals, prepayments, depreciation and all other month end adjustments as required.
3. Ensure accuracy of financial reporting with review and reconciliation of all control accounts, including actioning necessary journal entries and nominal analysis.
4. Provide supporting commentary on the financial performance, highlighting variance to budget and forecasts and support strategic decision making.
5. Assisting preparation of annual budgets and any re-forecasting as required. This will include working alongside other department heads to gather required information.
6. Assist central finance function with monthly intercompany reconciliations to ensure all group balances are correct.
7. Work with departmental managers to ensure accuracy of reporting, and collaboratively identify opportunities for cost savings.
8. Analyse revenue streams and project works to provide financial commentary and identify opportunities for margin enhancements.
9. Ensure knowledge is up to date on financial regulations and accounting standards. Will also include liaison with Group auditors if required.
10. Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business to ensure that financial considerations are integrated into Operational strategies.
11. Provide assistance, and work alongside, the central credit control department to monitor accounts and liaise with customers to ensure monies are received within agreed terms. Adhere to escalation procedures where necessary.
12. Assist with monitoring of outstanding customer purchase orders, escalating where required.
13. Importing the Servicetrac Invoice file into Sage to ensure ledgers are accurate and up to date.
14. Assisting with subcontractor reconciliations.
15. Oversee internal processes and propose efficiencies where possible.
16. Completion of ad-hoc project work and financial analysis on performance, including production of monthly KPI report.
17. Any other duties that the company may request from time to time that have not been included in the above.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required
Qualifications:
1. Part qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent. Or AAT qualified.
2. Good knowledge of Excel, Microsoft packages and Outlook. Sage package experience preferable (or equivalent).
3. Previous experience within a management accountant role.
4. Good attention to detail.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. Strong organisational skills.
7. Time Management skills.
8. High standard of personal presentation.
