Main Duties:
1. Duties/Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities (Rotating Machines):
1. Creating new electrical designs based on a series of design rules.
2. To operate within company guidelines and procedures.
3. Attending both in-house and external meetings.
4. Assisting the sales team in costing and preparing quotations for customers.
5. Direct involvement in providing support and technical knowledge where required.
6. Liaising with external departments including Sales, Production, Quality, Test and Purchasing.
Key Responsibilities (Transformers):
1. The generation of both tender and contract transformer designs.
2. To meet the requirements for tender/contract design data in accordance with the agreed due dates.
3. Liaison with external customers and other departments as necessary.
4. Ensuring that procedures and processes are properly reviewed and worked to.
5. The continual improvement of quality and environmental standards.
6. Cooperate and coordinate with production and quality teams to resolve issues and improve design quality.
7. Continuous development of design processes and procedures.
8. The maintenance of housekeeping standards dictated by the company.
9. The proper utilisation and maintenance of all equipment provided for his/her use.
10. Analysis of Quality Alerts, actioned appropriately and in a timely manner.
11. Contribution to companywide Transformer Engineering and Manufacturing initiatives.
12. To ensure the requirements of new technology are assessed and effectively utilised.
Qualifications/Skills required for the role:
1. GCSEs High school or equivalent.
2. Degree or Tertiary Qualification in Electrical Engineering.
3. Strong Microsoft Office experience, particularly Excel and VBA programming.
4. Ability to read Engineering Drawings (Solidworks & Autocad).
5. Desirable candidates will have electrical engineering knowledge, specifically basic AC and DC theory, magnetic circuits, electrical design, motors, generators and transformers.
