Remote/Hybrid - candidates expected to go to the office in Oxford once a month.
Our global client is an established leader within their niche, employing circa 80 people across multiple continents and 30+ within the UK. The business specialises in cross-platform software development, building bespoke innovative products for gaming platforms such as eGaming and mobile gaming - online casinos/gambling.
Due to year-on growth, my client is actively seeking an experienced Server Support Engineer to support infrastructure and applications developed using Microsoft systems, e.g., Remote Desktop, Active Directory, DNS, etc.
You will be directly supporting e-commerce websites that have thousands of daily users.
The role requires the candidate to be "on call" 25% of the time. The company runs a 24/7 operation 365 days a year, and all members of the team will take on-call shifts. This requires being the primary contact if there are any production emergencies during your watch. An on-call allowance is included as part of the package. As an indication, current stats show there being about one production call every week.
Requirements
Candidates will need the following technical skills and expertise:
1. Windows Server, IIS, NLB
2. VMware
3. Experience supporting infrastructure and applications developed using Microsoft Systems
4. Ideally, candidates will have experience supporting e-commerce websites or similar systems
5. You will need a proven track record in investigating complex infrastructure issues and learning about new environments and technologies
6. Ideal candidates will have relevant experience in configuring a Windows Server with IIS
7. Strong experience with Load Balancing technology
