Behaviour Support Assistant
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join our client secondary school starting in October 2024.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with emotional and behavioural difficulties, ensuring they can engage fully with their education.
You will work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create tailored support plans that address individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support Students: Work directly with students who exhibit challenging behaviours or require additional emotional support. Provide one-on-one assistance as well as small group interventions.
* Behaviour Management: Implement strategies for managing behaviour effectively within the classroom and during school activities. Help create a positive learning environment by promoting good behaviour and social skills.
* Monitoring Progress: Regularly assess and monitor student progress, documenting changes in behaviour and academic performance. Provide feedback to teachers and contribute to reviews of IEPs.
* Crisis Intervention: Be prepared to respond calmly and effectively in crisis situations, using de-escalation techniques when necessary.
* Promote Inclusion: Foster an inclusive atmosphere where all students feel valued and supported. Encourage participation in school activities that promote social interaction.
Qualifications:
* Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with behavioural challenges or special educational needs.
* Strong understanding of child development theories and behaviour management strategies.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to build rapport quickly with students from diverse backgrounds.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and conflict resolution.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
