Having placed several educators in this school over recent years who have gone onto permanent positions, we’ve seen first-hand their exceptional retention rate - thanks to the close-knit team, the highly rewarding work, and the chance to make a real impact on students’ lives. About the school: The school supports students aged 5 all the way through aged 16. They are based across two sites and you will be flexible to work across both, although you will predominately be based at one site. The Ashburton site is for secondary school aged students. You will contribute to the success and wellbeing of young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The students you will be working with will have come from a variety of backgrounds, including those who have experienced trauma and may also have ADHD or autism. No matter the student, the school places a strong emphasis on the therapeutic approach, prioritizing building strong, meaningful relationships in order to make the students feel safe. It is because of this approach that the school boasts an excellent attendance record, allowing for even greater success and outcomes. About the role: The school is looking for a TA to provide both general classroom support and focused 1:1 assistance across different subjects. If you have a particular subject expertise, the school may be able to place you in classes that align with your strengths (subject to availability).
