About the Role
As Warehouse and Logistics Manager, you will oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, transport, and logistics. Working closely with the Warehouse Supervisor and Site Manager, you'll ensure the warehouse runs smoothly, professionally, and in compliance with safety standards. Your role will involve introducing modern techniques and processes to optimise workload prioritisation and further enhance the team's efficiency, while ensuring a seamless transition for the current team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage warehouse, transport, and logistics operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
2. Drive workload prioritisation, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
3. Support and mentor the current team, maintaining a positive culture and retaining skilled staff.
4. Assist in managing HR-related tasks within the warehouse, including conflict resolution, training, and change management.
5. Work with senior leadership to implement new equipment, barcoding systems, and racking solutions, ensuring a smooth integration with existing processes.
6. Oversee warehouse accreditations, maintaining compliance and professional standards.
7. Support senior managers with reporting and operational decision-making as needed.
About You
To succeed in this role, you'll need to bring professionalism, strong leadership, and problem-solving abilities. You'll be experienced in logistics and warehouse management within a fast-paced industry and be comfortable implementing changes that drive efficiency while maintaining team morale.
Skills and Qualifications
1. Professional qualifications in logistics, operations management, or a related field.
2. Strong experience in warehouse and logistics operations, ideally in steel stockholding or distribution.
3. Proven ability to manage change, resolve conflicts, and train teams effectively.
4. A track record of driving efficiency and implementing new techniques or technologies in warehouse environments.
5. Excellent communication and people management skills.
6. Ability to produce reports and assist in senior-level operational planning.
