Job summary
The Portering and Post Room Services department are looking for a talented, enthusiastic, and experienced Team Leader to deliver an outstanding customer experience, ensuring that an efficient and patient focused portering service is delivered across Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust
The individual should be ambitious, and people focused with the presence and personality to influence the day to day running of a busy portering service. You will be able to maximize the performance and productivity of your team in line with Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust expectation.
The Post Holder is responsible for supporting, directing, guiding, and training staff in the Portering and Post Room Services department, whilst working alongside them as a member of the Team at operational level, moving patients, samples, and medical records across the Trust in a safe and efficient manner.
The working pattern for this role covers 7 days a week, covering a 24 hour service. Shift patterns include, early's, late's, and night duties. Different shift patterns will attract enhanced hourly rate including weekend and bank holidays.
Main duties of the job
If you enjoy working with people, are a natural leader, motivated by a passion for quality and great service deliver, and possess the following:
1. Significant experience dealing with the public in a diverse, fast moving, customer orientated organisation. Full UK Driving License Minimum of one years' experience of leading a team Excellent communication skills Ability to assess, instruct and train staff. Ability to work on own initiative in decision making. Good Leadership skills skills (Microsoft Excel, Word etc.) You will need to be able to work various shift patterns over 7 days to cover a 24-hour service, including early, late and night duties over a 5-week rotation.
The Team Leader has administrative duties that include processing time sheets, undertaking staff appraisals and maintaining electronic training records.
