Join a highly respected specialist school catering to children aged 4-16 with profound multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), high-support autism, and complex care needs. This role places a strong emphasis on providing personal, emotional, and educational care to support each child's unique development.
As part of a dedicated team, you will work in a nurturing environment where music, art, sensory play, and therapeutic activities are integrated into the curriculum to engage students and promote their well-being. This school focuses on holistic care, ensuring that each child feels valued and supported.
A Learning Support Assistant in this setting will:
- Support students with PMLD in their daily routines, including personal care, feeding, and mobility assistance.
- Use music, sensory activities, and play to help students develop communication and social skills.
- Collaborate with therapists and teachers to create a stimulating and supportive learning environment tailored to the needs of each student.
- Help students achieve small but meaningful milestones that enrich their quality of life and independence.
- Pay: £95 to £105 per day.
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:45 pm.
- Hands-on experience working with children with PMLD, autism, and complex needs in a specialist setting.
- Opportunities to work with therapeutic approaches such as Sensory Integration Therapy, Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), and more.
- A supportive, collaborative environment to gain experience in both care and education.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Patient, empathetic, and passionate about working with children with PMLD and complex needs.
- Adaptable and creative, with an interest in using music, art, and sensory activities to enhance student well-being.
- Open to assisting with personal care and other physical needs as part of a holistic approach to supporting students.
- A graduate with a background in music, art, psychology, or education, seeking to gain invaluable experience in SEN and care.
