Our Team
The Secured Credit team plays a pivotal role in shaping our lending strategy across secured lending, with responsibility for the design and delivery of innovative mortgage lending credit strategies and policies across the credit lifecycle. Reporting to the Head of Secured Credit Risk, you'll be a member of the Secured Credit Risk leadership team and will lead a team of highly skilled credit risk managers and analysts.
What you'll be doing
1. Shape Our Future: Develop and implement innovative credit risk strategies and policies to drive sustainable business growth.
2. Protect Our Assets: Assess and manage credit risk for our secured lending portfolios, providing actionable insight into customers, portfolio performance and emerging risks and opportunities.
3. Stay Ahead of the Curve: Seek data and technology led innovation to improve customer journeys and internal processes.
4. Ensure Compliance: Stay up to date on regulatory expectations and ensure compliance of credit policies.
5. Mentor and Guide: Engage, inspire, and motivate credit analysts and portfolio managers.
6. Collaborate for Success: Partner with stakeholders across the organisation to optimise credit risk management processes.
7. Innovate and Evolve: Contribute to the development and implementation of new products, system design and initiatives.
We need you to have
1. The ability to build strong relationships: Proven ability to build trust and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organisation.
2. Credit Risk expertise: Proven experience in credit risk management within the secured lending sector.
3. Market knowledge: Extensive understanding of the UK lending market, particularly within secured lending.
4. Leadership skills: The proven ability to lead with purpose and inspire your team to achieve exceptional results.
5. A talent for communication: Capability to condense and simplify complex information to brief and influence senior stakeholders.
6. Excellent time management: Aptitude to support multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment and prioritise effectively.
7. Analytical Mindset: Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, or a related field, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
It's a bonus if you have but not essential
1. Technical expertise: Knowledge of analytical programming languages e.g. Python, SAS. Experience with data software e.g. Excel, Power BI.
2. Credit lifecycle knowledge: From acquisition through to collections and litigation.
3. Transformation experience: Experience of leading redesign of data, policy and/or systems from a credit risk management perspective.
