Job title: Material Resource Planning Controller
Location: Warwick - hybrid
Hybrid: 2 days a week in the office, more initially whilst training, and 3 days WFH
Travel: there will be some business travel - 10-15% of the time
Contract length: 6 months - long term rolling contract (probably up to 2 years)
Rate: up to £25ph max PAYE - Inside IR35
Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services, is currently recruiting for a Material Resource Planning Controller to work for a global leader in energy technology. This job is within the Supply Chain department, in the Gas Services part of the business, managing gas turbines and spare parts delivery.
Overview:
You will mainly manage vendors and external suppliers, ensuring timely deliveries. You will lead vendor meetings, drive discussions, find solutions, and build relationships with vendors. Work using SAP daily to update data delivery dates and align orders.
The Role:
As a Material Resource Planning (MRP) Controller in the Aero Derivative Gas Turbine business, you’ll build, maintain, and communicate detailed delivery plans for specific part orders, enabling the master production plan to be achieved.
Responsibilities:
1. Respond to demand changes by providing the Regional Purchase Manager with implications of customer requirements in line with the company Commitment Acceptance process.
2. Maintain component planning data to enable demand cascade through the supply chain.
3. Plan and manage stock across the supply chain, ensuring specified levels are maintained.
4. Ensure supplier delivery commitments are reflected in SAP, respond to supplier inquiries, and manage schedule adherence.
5. Be process compliant through the use of standard systems and reports to resolve potential delivery hazards.
6. Lead operational relationships with suppliers to coordinate planning, control, inventory, delivery, and lead time improvements.
7. Conduct business reviews with suppliers to ensure compliance with Quality, Cost, and Delivery requirements.
8. Manage and coordinate delivery issues, reporting shortages and recovery programs.
9. Understand Load and Capacity constraints within a supplier that may impact performance and delivery.
Key Skills and Experience Required:
* Excellent communicator
* Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, or Logistics with a proven understanding of production planning and controls
* Understanding of quality system requirements, inventory control, and IT systems
* Ownership of personal development
* Solid understanding of SAP or similar ERP systems
Essential Experience:
* Relevant experience in material resource control, expediting, or supply chain
* Experience using SAP or previous experience in Oil & Gas if not
Desirable Experience:
Oil & Gas industry experience is a bonus, though other industries are acceptable.
