Job Description
The main purpose of this role is to contribute to the safe and efficient running of the Despatch by helping maximize the despatch teams' output and providing support and cover for team leaders ensuring a continuous flow of production through the removal of finished goods from out-feed conveyors and loading of trailers to maximise efficiency and ensure smooth running of the Despatch team.
Main duties include:
* Supervise the shift team, ensuring that staff are always carrying out their relevant duties.
* Supervise the shift team and ensure their compliance with all Health and Safety procedures.
* Drive the team to ensure your KPIs are achieved.
* Distribute labour where needed to smooth out the peaks and troughs of production.
* Ensure that product is taken off the take-off lines following correct Company procedures.
* Carry out unloading, pallet/top-boards and ULT.
* Ensure that all documentation for invoices and deliveries is correct.
* Provide support for quality systems and ensure compliance with ISO and BRCGS requirements.
* Update training records for the shift team as appropriate and ensure all training needs for the team are met and are up to date.
* Report accidents/incidents and dangerous occurrences to the appropriate persons immediately and assist with/undertake investigations as necessary.
* Carry out daily checks of FLTs to ensure they are safe to use.
* Ensure compliance with all safety and site requirements for the correct and safe use of FLTs.
* Carry out monthly stock takes when required, to achieve an accuracy of ±5% of stock in the Warehouse.
* Carry out personnel formalities such as but not limited to return to work interviews.
* Adhere to and promote the department's housekeeping schedule.
* Provide the Despatch manager with daily shift reports.
* Contribute towards the department's CI efforts and project work.
* Undertake any other duties as required by the department or Company.
The Successful Applicant
Ideally, the successful candidate will have:
* A valid FLT licence.
* Good management and interpersonal skills.
* Numeracy, literacy, and computer literacy.
* Good verbal communication skills.
* Able to work unsupervised and under own initiative.
* Ability to work well within a team-based environment.

* Salary of £33,000.
* Working a shift pattern on the 3-shift rota, over 5 days, 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week which includes a paid half an hour lunch break.
