Position : SEN Class Teacher Location : Waterlooville, Hampshire Age Group: Primary Contract Type : Full-time, Permanent Salary : Competitive, based on experience We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special School Class Teacher to join a supportive and dynamic team in Waterlooville. The school supports 149 Pupils across 14 classes with varying Special educational needs. This involves working with Children who experience social and communication difficulties, autism, speech and language difficulties, and learning difficulties. As a teacher at this special school, you will play a pivotal role in the lives of children with additional needs, providing tailored support and fostering a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons to children with a range of special educational needs. Pupils spend lots of time learning in different ways including safe play areas and the Outdoor Learning Lodge. Assess students’ progress and adapt teaching methods to support their individual learning styles. Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and parents to create personalized learning plans. Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages students' social, emotional, and academic growth. Implement behavioural strategies and support positive behaviour in line with the school's ethos. Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities. Essential Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). A compassionate and patient approach to teaching. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. A proactive attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement. An understanding of relevant safeguarding policies and procedures. Desirable: Additional qualifications in Special Education or SEN training.
