Class Teacher - SEN School Location: Ebbw Vale Job Type: Full-time, Ad Hoc (Short-term and Long-term vacancies) Salary: Paid to scale We are seeking dedicated Class Teachers to join our SEN school in Ebbw Vale. As a Class Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and social development of children with special educational needs. This school is in a fantastic purpose built facility with its own therapy pool, sensory rooms and rebound therapy rooms. You will be welcomed into this team with open arms, the headteacher works with staff to create a collective purpose, dedicated to their pupils development. The most recent ESTYN report was glowing. Day-to-day of the role: Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans that meet the individual needs of students with various learning disabilities. Assess and record students' progress and provide grades and feedback. Maintain discipline in the classroom. Create and enforce a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Employ special educational strategies and techniques during instruction to improve the development of sensory- and perceptual-motor skills, language, cognition, and memory. Tailor lessons to meet the needs of students, considering both individual educational plans (IEPs) and the general curriculum. Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and stakeholders and participate in regular meetings. Handle various teaching materials and resources for educational activities. Provide appropriate resources and learning materials for students. Required Skills & Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experience in special education is highly preferred. Strong understanding of the challenges faced by children with special needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Good organisational and time-management skills.
