Semi Skilled Mechanical Operative

Working for Waukesha Bearings, a Dover company, as a Semi-Skilled Mechanical Operative, you will be part of a precision engineering manufacturing facility, producing industrial bearings, seals and isolators which have typical applications in rotating equipment and turbomachinery, supplying customers throughout Europe and further afield.
The Semi-Skilled Operative sets up and operates machines and equipment to perform a range of processes in the manufacturing of custom-engineered bearings, including the manual processing of parts and materials to the given technical specifications, drawings and in line with required quality standards, working in conjunction with various other engineering disciplines at our established site in Glasgow.
What You Will Bring:
* A minimum of 3 years’ experience within a mechanical engineering/manufacturing work environment
* Proven ability to understand and work from technical drawings and specifications, experience of mechanical manufacturing processes, including fabrication, processing, finishing and final assembly ideally within a machine-shop environment
* Ideally to have experience of 'Hot Work' such as welding, brazing, soldering, or working in a foundry or furnace setting
* Some experience of working with lifting equipment such as overhead cranes, also manual handling, lifting and slinging
* Ideally experience of forklift/reach truck operation
* Prior experience with precision inspection equipment including, but not limited to, micrometers, calipers and electronic measuring equipment would be preferred
