The post-holder will participate in the effective and safe running of the MRI department at Newham University Hospital site. The post-holder will be able to perform a wide range of specialist MRI scans. The post holder will assist in the delivery of clinical trials and performing MRI research scans.
The post holder will work closely with radiographers, students and clinical staff of all grades in the safe, prompt and effective imaging of inpatients and outpatients.
The post holder will ensure patient flow in the trust by actively managing the flow of emergency and in-patients to ensure same day scanning. Furthermore, they will be expected to checking of conditional devices, and booking of sedated patients, liaison with radiologists and other clinicians to actively unblock barriers to scanning. The post holder will be ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and experience and will be enabled to deal with and diffuse potential complaints to the patient and carers’ satisfaction.
The post holder will maintain an up-to-date level of knowledge and skills to enable them to maintain a highly professional and technical standard of clinical work. This knowledge will be disseminated through formal and informal CPD practice to ensure all staff produce a high quality of radiography.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. BSc (hons) Diagnostic Radiography
2. •Current and up to date state registration through HCPC or other regulatory body
Desirable criteria
3. Post graduate cert or higher in MR Imaging
4. IV Cannulation training or be willing to complete the IV cannulation training.
Experience
Essential criteria
5. Substantial experience in MRI imaging
6. NHS Experience
7. Acute/emergency MR imaging
Desirable criteria
8. Undertaking appraisal practices and peer review audits
9. Writing protocols and policies
10. Experience in undertaking recruitment drives
Knowledge
Essential criteria
11. An up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging MRI scanning techniques and relevant topics / professional issues.
12. Knowledge of current policies and legislation affecting service delivery
13. Evidence of CPD
