Employer Bio
Life for any of us can change in an instant. Experiencing a road traffic accident, a major stroke or being diagnosed with dementia can happen completely unexpectedly and can change our lives forever.
There are hundreds of different neurological conditions including stroke, brain tumour, brain injury, Alzheimer’s disease and many rarer ones too.
The Brain Charity offers emotional support, practical help and social activities to anyone with a neurological condition and to their family, friends and carers.
Role Summary
They are seeking a proactive, motivated and outgoing Hospital Engagement Officer to represent The Brain Charity within The Walton Centre, the UK’s leading Neurology/Neurosurgery Hospital. Based within the hospital setting, you will support patients and hospital services by providing advice and guidance to patients around non-clinical issues, at the time it is needed most. By providing urgent advice at their bedside, you will contribute to a holistic approach to neurological care, which not only addresses a medical need, but looks at the wider practical, emotional and social needs of the person, as the individual they are. You will be based directly on acute wards and in clinics to identify in-patients who would benefit from engaging with the valuable services they offer.
Additionally, you will engage with NHS staff to promote the service, deliver presentations and contribute to staff training programs.
This is a newly created role within the organisation, and they would love to hear from you if you are:
1. Confident enough to make things happen and present to a group
2. Affable with a genuine desire to build supportive relationships with patients, families, colleagues & other agencies
3. Outcome driven with a drive for efficiency and getting everything in the right place
4. Someone with the kindness, courage and commitment to give guidance and support to patients and their families in life changing situations.
Interviews for successful applicants will take place during the week commencing Monday 17 March 2025.
Please e-mail HR@thebraincharity.org.uk or ring 0151 298 2999 if you have any questions.
