Our client is currently recruiting multiple vacancies for their 5-bed care home as part of their exciting expansion project. They require flexible Support Workers to work with their young adult LD clients.
Based in a beautiful five-bedroom detached property, our client provides its young residents with access to a secure garden space and activities that are appropriate to their needs and requirements.
They are looking for Residential Support Workers to join their friendly team. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to further develop their careers as there will be many opportunities for advancement.
The client offers an in-depth training programme, and progression through Further Education is available along with excellent management support.
Shifts will be between 8pm-8am with the option to complete longer or shorter shifts.
The Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will help provide a safe and nurturing environment for those living within the client’s residential services, and make a positive contribution to the provision of a high standard of residential care.
The role will involve working with behaviour of concern.
Your Responsibilities will include:
* Ensuring that all records and reports are completed within the appropriate period and to professional standards.
* Meeting all guests’ emotional, physical and social needs.
* Acting as a positive role model for the guests.
* Ensuring that guests have regular access to their Social Worker.
* Ensuring that guests can raise complaints when they need to.
* Understanding and responding to the guests to engage in a positive relationship with them.
* Making all guests feel genuinely cared for.
* Ensuring guests feel valued and important as both individuals and as a group.
* Dealing with issues of sexuality, intimacy and physical contact in an appropriate manner.
* Helping with guest mealtimes and leisure activities.
* Developing guests’ individual interests and enthusiasms.
* Ensuring that the home is always kept to a high standard of presentation.
* Following company policy and procedures.
* Engaging in meetings, reviews and training sessions.
Upon successful completion of the probationary period (12 months), you will be expected to have undertaken professional training and met competencies within the role before becoming substantive.
