Position Overview
We’re looking for an assistant grower/ trainee farm manager to join the Pea Pod Crew for the 2021 growing season.
Responsibilities
This is a great opportunity for a hard working individual, with a few growing seasons already under their belt, who wants to run their own farm one day, to career progress and gain experience in organic farm management. You will have more responsibility on the farm than a seasonal farm worker.
You will be involved in all aspects of the farm:
1. Veg box packing & logistics
2. Implementing farm plan
3. Propagation
4. Bed preparation
5. Weed control
6. Overseeing harvesting & quality control
7. Outdoor field scale and polytunnel production
8. Record keeping & more
You will work as part of a team. Desired qualities include self-motivation, a good independent work ethic, attention to detail, collaborative team working skills, enthusiasm for small-scale organic veg farming, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Training and Support
Training opportunities and on-farm mentoring provided. We can provide assistance with finding local accommodation.
Diversity and Inclusion
We welcome applications from all, including growers who are women, non-binary, Black and People of Colour.
