About the Role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Exotic Veterinary Surgeon to join a leading RCVS-accredited, purpose-built veterinary hospital in East Sussex. This role offers a 100% exotics caseload during the week, with occasional dogs and cats at weekends. You'll work alongside a dedicated team of exotic vets and nurses, benefiting from state-of-the-art facilities and a diverse caseload, including reptiles, small mammals, birds, amphibians, and even fish.
* Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 (pro-rata, depending on experience)
* Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week over 4 days, 1:5 full weekends (Monday off post-weekend). Flexible arrangements are available for the right candidate.
* Caseload: Rotate between inpatients, theatre, and consultations. Work closely with local RSPCA centres for unique species care.
About You:
The ideal candidate will:
* Be approachable and a strong team player.
* Have experience handling and treating a variety of exotic species.
* Possess excellent communication skills and a commitment to outstanding patient and client care.
* A certificate in exotics (or equivalent experience) is preferred but not essential.
The Practice:
This purpose-built hospital offers:
* Separate wards for cats, dogs, and exotics, including vivariums and walk-in rabbit kennels.
* Advanced equipment for exotics, including a ventilator, rigid endoscope, and small mammal dentistry tools.
* On-site facilities such as three operating theatres, a CT scanner, digital X-ray, and a large in-house laboratory.
* A supportive team environment with multiple certificate holders and referral services in orthopaedics, ophthalmology, advanced imaging, and exotics.
