ROLE OVERVIEW //
We are recruiting for an Early Careers Recruitment (“ECR”) Assistant to join the ECR Team.
The ECR Team is part of the HR Department and the wider Business Services function based at the firm’s head office in London. Its purpose is to work alongside the ECR partners to attract and recruit those wishing to qualify as a solicitor, who will ensure the continuing success of the firm.
The team consists of the Head of Recruitment, Marketing Manager, Operations Manager, two Advisers, an Executive, two Assistants, and two Administrators. The successful candidate will report into the Marketing Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES //
The key responsibilities of this role are set out below and there may be other responsibilities which are not listed. You may be required on occasion to work outside our normal working hours of 9:30am to 5:30pm.
Marketing and Communications :
Supporting the Marketing Manager and Adviser with the ECR marketing and communications campaign, including supporting with:
* Promotion and organisation of the ECR virtual and in-person events, including producing the relevant promotional emails, finding representatives to attend and organising logistics.
* Social media content campaign, including supporting with the planning, scheduling and evaluation of posts, and organisation of video shoots and photo shoots.
* Annual communications campaign, including managing the mailing lists and putting together promotional emails.
* Day-to-day management of the ECR website.
* Preparing the university statistics documents each year and organising the briefing meetings with the relevant university teams ahead of the autumn season.
* Responsible for day-to-day management of branded items stock for work experience schemes.
University relationships:
Supporting the Advisers with university society sponsorships and campus events/activities for allocated target universities, including:
* Arranging annual university-wide firm presentations and university society events.
* Agreeing university society sponsorships, including arranging sponsorship meetings, and issuing sponsorship agreements.
* Arranging campus events/activities, including setting the dates of firm events, arranging the promotion, creating Instagram assets, and sending out all pre and post event comms.
* Arranging representatives to attend university events.
* Keeping the university events spreadsheet up to date with all target university activity and feedback on each event.
* Attending meetings with university student prize-winners.
Work experience opportunities and recruitment events:
* Assisting with the organisation and running of work experience opportunities and recruitment events.
* Representing the firm at ECR events throughout the year.
Applications and interviews:
* Assisting the Advisers with monitoring the online application system to ensure that applications are being reviewed within the relevant timeframes.
* Conducting short HR interviews as part of the training contract interview process.
* Assisting with organising the weekly review meeting to discuss the training contract candidates and the offer process when required.
* During the busy season, assisting the Administrators with meeting candidates virtually or in person and setting up their written exercises, individually checking and processing applications through the online application system, and coordinating the interview process.
Miscellaneous
* Supporting the Managers with reporting requests, including running reports from the online application system and manipulating the raw data using pivot tables and other Excel functions.
* Responding to general ECR queries (both internal and external) by telephone and email.
* Assisting with other tasks and projects to support the team as required.
CANDIDATE PROFILE //
* Candidates for this position must have:
* Degree-educated or equivalent industry experience.
* Ideally, previous early careers experience in a law firm or other professional services environment.
* Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task, keep calm under pressure, and work to tight deadlines.
* Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
* Enthusiastic individual prepared to take a hands-on approach to managing their workload using their own initiative.
* Comfortable accepting instructions and guidance from different angles.
* Ability to work as part of a team and build strong business relationships, both internally and externally and at all levels; approachable and able to build rapport quickly.
* High level of professionalism and integrity; displays the highest standard of professional ethics.
* A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word and Excel.
* An interest in working in HR/early careers recruitment.
