Are you an experienced Design Manager ready to lead critical projects in cladding remediation? Our client, a principal contractor with over 20 years of expertise in the construction industry, specializes in high:value, compliant cladding repatriations and regeneration contracts. They are seeking a skilled Design Manager to oversee design processes on multi:million:pound projects across London and the Southeast.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee design management and audits on assigned projects, ensuring alignment with commercial and site teams.
* Manage and amend project specifications and drawings where company design standards are applied.
* Work closely with Site Managers to ensure high:quality service delivery.
* Supervise, motivate, and evaluate design staff, driving performance and development.
* Coordinate with Health and Safety and other departments to improve business processes and maintain quality.
* Engage with manufacturers, structural engineers, and architects to drive project success.
Role Responsibilities:
* Oversee the collation and monitoring of specifications, drawings, and design calculations from inception to completion for assigned projects.
* Distribute documentation and coordinate with manufacturers and project teams to ensure smooth workflows.
* Address technical queries, recommending solutions for design challenges.
* Identify and manage risks and issues, providing commercial insights to inform recommendations.
* Supervise design specifications and drawings for external or subcontract works, such as windows, roofing, and M and E systems.
Key Tasks:
* Conduct regular and ad:hoc site visits to ensure project quality and address design concerns.
* Attend regular site meetings and client design meetings, providing updates and solutions.
* Manage design:related staff and resolve site issues, making recommendations to the Head of Design for process improvements.
Skills And Qualifications:
* Technical qualifications with significant experience as a Design Manager in environmental construction.
* CSCS card holder with DBS clearance for specific sites as required.
* Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook, as well as advanced skills in CAD and Project Probe software.
