Amazon is looking for a Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator to add to the team:
Year-on-year, as we continue to grow, we need to work as smart as we can, to keep all our team members safe, fulfilled, motivated, and empowered. To help us achieve this, we’re seeking a driven EHS Officer. With your Bias for Action, we’ll need you to step in and help drive health and safety across our fulfillment center in Riyadh.
In this crucial WHS position, you’ll report to the WHS Manager.
Responsibilities
1. Lead site risk assessment for current and new activities.
2. Establish site WHS training matrix. Lead implementation of site-specific WHS standards and guidelines.
3. Lead implementation of site WHS objectives and programs.
4. Promote a safe culture among employees by providing daily WHS content to shift briefings.
5. Perform frequent site safety audits to identify all non-compliance equipment and/or processes at the site. Work with the Operations team to implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks and prevent injury.
6. Attend to incidents and occupational injuries cases on site.
7. Guide and assist area managers on incident investigations, Gensuite write-up, and communication of lessons learned.
8. Assist Ops team in Gensuite follow-up sheet and CAPA creation. Audit record-keeping practices and ensure Gensuite entries are aligned with global WHS standards and local regulations.
9. Ensure the PPE inventory at the site and coordinate with procurement for order placement.
10. Key Safety Requirement (KSR) Audit weekly assignment, monitoring, and support.
11. Ensure basic Fire Fighting training and first aid training completion.
12. Daily Powered Industrial Tool and Trailer Dock Release inspection and communications.
13. Daily Action Tracking System monitoring and support.
14. Participate in site management safety walk, providing insight into unsafe acts and conditions to management.
15. Provide daily updates to the Country WHS Manager on objectives progress, incidents, KSR, ATS, network actions, etc.
16. Preparation of WHS committee meeting agenda, MOM write-up, and ATS creation.
17. Daily Permit to Work review and sign off.
18. Lead on WHS-related procurement and follow up.
19. Prepare emergency response plans.
20. Manage and conduct emergency drills.
21. Manage preparation and training of emergency drills, prepare records.
22. Heat Index establishment, monitoring, and support.
23. Provide support to site-specific requests, unplanned events, and activities.
24. Conduct daily and weekly WHS audits, such as hazard waste room inspection, spill kit inspection, first aid room, etc.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or Engineering/Science bachelor degree.
- +2 years of experience in OSH field.
- Good communicator – English.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skills.
- Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
- Experience leading and managing a team.
- Ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns and conduct job hazard and job safety analyses.
- Experience in emergency response and currently holds First aid and CPR certificates.
- Experience in Worker’s Compensation case management.
- Analyzing and manipulating data.
- Passion for safety.
