Lung Defence and Immunology Specialist Nurse

The Cambridge Centre for Lung Infection (CCLI) at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is looking to appoint an experienced Nurse to join the Lung Defence and Immunology Team in supporting care delivery to this patient group. We care for over 1800 patients with difficult lung infections, supporting them through both inpatient and outpatient journeys.
The Cambridge Centre for Lung Infection (CCLI) is unique in having Respiratory Consultants and Consultant Clinical Immunologists working within the same clinic to evaluate and treat people with difficult lung infections.
We are expanding our small Specialist Nursing team, seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and motivated new team member with excellent communication skills, a respiratory background, and the ability to work as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be involved in delivering a daily Lung Defence Support Service, in close collaboration with the clinical team, to enable patients to access care, advice, and treatments to manage their chest exacerbations. They will assist the Band 7 Nurse in delivering an Immunoglobulin home therapy training programme and continuing care for Immunology patients.
They will be expected to assist in maintaining local and National Immunology databases and will have opportunities to be involved in service audits and developments within the CCLI Team.

Qualifications
* Registered Nurse
* Diploma in Nursing
* Teaching and Assessing qualification
Experience
* Demonstrable experience in Cardiothoracic or Respiratory Nursing
* Evidence of continuing Professional development
* Effectively prioritises and co-ordinates own work and the work of others
* Works as a team player and demonstrates commitment to team objectives
* Previous database experience and working knowledge of Excel and Word
* Experience in involvement in clinical audit
