PE Global is recruiting a Materials Engineer for our industrial manufacturing client based in Peterborough. The role is an initial 12-month contract and the role is hybrid. Responsibilities of the role: You will provide materials engineering support to all UK facilities being involved in investigating a wide range of different materials in multiple applications. Resolving issues regarding the design or manufacturing. Ensuring design acceptance and manufacturing readiness. Participating in the adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Planning and improving testing procedures and operations to make the test more reliable, efficient, and cost-effective. Monitoring results, machine and process capabilities and performance reliability. Requirements: Essential: Materials Science/Metallurgy degree and/or substantive practical working experience within a materials laboratory environment Metallurgical / materials evaluation of new products, processes and or systems Engaging communicator; Able to convey technical assessments and results to both technical and non-technical colleagues Providing technical guidance on product and process maintenance Ability to Identify metallurgical / materials manufacturing defects and make process improvement recommendations Desirable: Experience of non-metallics testing Deep experience of general metallurgy Experience of fluids testing / chemistry knowledge Experience of working in an ISO17025 accredited laboratory Please note PE Global cannot assist with any sponsorship for this role.
