We are currently recruiting on behalf of a charity based in Birmingham which provides a variety of services for older people. They are recruiting for a Housing & Maintenance Officer on a permanent full-time basis covering schemes on the outskirts of Birmingham.
The role is 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday, paying £21,840 per annum rising to £24,000 in April. The successful candidate must have a clean driving license and access to their own vehicle and undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Day to day duties will include:
1. Manage supported housing services for older tenants ensuring full occupancy and quality service delivery
2. Communicate effectively with teams to ensure consistent service across all schemes
3. Support tenants in fostering a sustainable and inclusive community environment
4. Administer building maintenance and management per organizational policies
5. Assist tenants with support planning to maintain independent living
6. Provide rent account guidance and benefits advice
7. Identify and address tenant support needs creating and reviewing support plans
8. Conduct regular welfare checks and provide emergency support when needed
9. Assist with property allocations, tenancy agreements, and affordability checks
10. Welcome new tenants ensuring they understand the scheme's facilities and systems
11. Perform building inspections and risk assessments regularly
12. Encourage tenant participation in social and community activities
13. Address antisocial behaviour through mediation and resolution strategies
14. Manage end-of-tenancy procedures including legal and financial matters
