Compensation & Benefits Information
· Rate of pay ranges from: $36.14 per hour to $38.16 per hour as per Collective Agreement.

The Registered Practical Nurse is responsible for the application of the nursing process in planning and providing care for individuals, families, or groups based on the Standards of Nursing Practice, within a total patient care delivery framework. He/she demonstrates critical thinking skills and sound decision making based on scientific principles in theory. He/she is responsible and accountable for all activities in which he/she engages. The Registered Practical Nurse will be assigned duties and responsibilities in line with the scope of practice determined by the College of Nurses of Ontario. Day-to-day assignments will be determined by the Resource Nurse/Charge Nurse. The RPN is responsible to quickly identify when the patient’s condition has gone beyond the scope of the RPN's practice or has unexpectedly changed to the RN for assessment.
Requirements:
1. Applicants must be registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
2. Must possess a current B.C.L.S. Certificate.
3. Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
4. Must be willing to be assigned to other nursing areas as required.
5. Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
6. Demonstrated ability to attend work promptly and regularly and to maintain the same.
7. Must illustrate superior customer service, telephone skills, demonstrate professionalism, and a courteous approach with the public and staff.
8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
9. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively with all members of the health care team.
10. Must maintain principles of confidentiality.
11. Bilingualism (French and English) to be considered an asset.
