Job Purpose:
To assist in the delivery of an effective National Water Hygiene Service to ASDA stores.
The Water Hygiene Technician will work alongside a Water Hygiene Technician Mate, sharing a van.
The role will be permanent night shifts, usually Monday – Thursday Nights (4 Nights), requiring you to stay away from home during the week. You will leave home on a Monday and return on a Friday.
City FM will cover all accommodation expenses during the week, including an evening meal allowance and breakfast each night you are away.
Key Accountabilities:
* Carry out the cleaning and chlorination of cold water storage tanks and their associated down systems in ASDA premises (nationally), subject to 6 monthly risk-based inspections.
* The cleaning and chlorination tasks are generally undertaken outside normal store trading hours to minimize disruption.
* Assist with servicing schedules for Kalguard water softening systems.
* Undertake servicing of cold water drink dispensers when requested.
* Assist with any other water hygiene related tasks as instructed by the water hygiene supervisor or national manager.
* Ensure priority is given to the Health and Safety of colleagues, contractors, and the public while performing job-related tasks.
* Represent the company professionally and develop good working relationships with City and ASDA colleagues in all stores and ALS sites.
* Notify the night technician of any defective equipment.
* Maintain stock levels of consumables and chemicals, informing the night technician of any stock or equipment issues.
Background / Experience / Skills Required:
* Ability to work permanent night shifts and stay away from home during the week, leaving home on a Monday and returning on a Friday.
* Must have a full and valid driving license and be prepared to travel across the UK.
* Legionella related qualifications: Hot & Cold systems, Risk Assessing, Disinfection, Water Regulations.
