About the Role: As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will provide essential one-to-one and small-group support to primary-aged pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Your role will involve fostering positive relationships, implementing tailored interventions, and supporting students in overcoming challenges that may impact their learning. Key Responsibilities: Provide dedicated support to children with behavioural and SEN needs, ensuring they feel safe and engaged in the classroom. Assist in the development and implementation of individual behaviour management strategies. Encourage positive behaviour and emotional resilience through structured activities and guidance. Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to create an inclusive and nurturing environment. Offer support during lessons, break times, and structured interventions. Job Requirements: To be considered for this role, you must have: A strong desire to support young people with behavioural challenges in education. Prior experience working in an educational, care, or support setting with children with SEMH, SEN, behavioural challenges, or additional learning needs will be an advantage. Excellent communication, patience, and problem-solving skills. Candidates with experience supporting behaviour in school or care settings University students seeking practical experience in child development or education Individuals with a background in youth work, care work, or SEN support Those with a calm, firm, and compassionate approach to behaviour management Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
