Job summary The role is for an Operating Department Practitioner within Main Theatres. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our friendly and professional team. The department manages elective, 24/7 acute and trauma cases for adults and paediatrics. The function of the department is to provide a high quality patient focused service for patients under regional blocks, general and local anaesthesia. The specialities cover General Surgery, Gynaecology, Urology, all Trauma and Elective Orthopaedics. Please note, the Trust currently does not have the capacity to support overseas anaesthetic technicians so we will unfortunately be unable to accept any applications that would require this support. Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for the daily management and delivery of safe, individual patient care, within a professional multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will be flexible, multi skilled and continue to gain further knowledge and skills in order to practice competently in elective and acute surgery. They will provide ongoing education, appropriate training opportunities and mentorship duties. The post holder will work with the team to facilitate new developments and positive change in the clinical environment, based on current evidence and research. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, professional and works well individually and within a team. About us Main Theatres is a busy department and is constantly expanding its services. It is a dedicated department which has five operating theatres, one Emergency Obstetric theatre and seven PACU areas.
