Mechanical Engineering Manager for a permanent role that encompasses leading, empowering and motivating multiple teams of mechanical and development engineers in the new product design and development of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
Salary: Up to £75,000 per annum, depending on experience
Working Hours: Monday – Friday - Flexible start/finish times
Work Arrangement: Full time or part time applicants considered; Hybrid working options
Location: Conveniently located next to M5 junction 20

About the Role:
1. Leading mechanical engineering activities across applicable projects through the mechanical engineers and teams as assigned
2. Ensuring that teams work cohesively and collaborate effectively
3. Implement best practice mechanical engineering to improve the delivery of the engineering function to time, cost, quality and specification
4. Ensuring the appropriate level of effective technical governance is in place for safety, compliance quality and reliability
5. Lead the mechanical engineering budgets for people and financial resources
6. Offer expert advice to other engineers, including supporting the training and development of engineers through formal and informal mentoring
7. Using SMART objectives within annual development plans, and monitoring via regular and timely 1:1s with direct reports
The Right Candidate:
1. More than 10 years’ experience of practical application of best-practice Mechanical Engineering in a relatable engineering industry
2. Significant experience working in a regulated, compliance-driven industry
3. Experience of recruiting, interviewing, and hiring Mechanical Engineers
4. Experience of tutoring/instructing best-practice Mechanical Engineering and transferring accumulated knowledge
5. Displays clear leadership behaviours, takes ownership, and controls situations while bringing people along even if they may not be direct reports
6. High level of integrity and accountability with a results-driven mindset, able to set the standard, and hold people accountable to deliver
7. Project and budget management skills
