Sunderland Care and Support are looking for a full time Cook to join the team at Washington Community Resource Centre, where we provide daytime opportunities for adults with learning and physical disabilities.
The successful applicant with be working as part of a small team in an industrial kitchen providing meals to people with varied diets.
The role of cook includes:
To plan, prepare, and produce relevant food and beverage in line with customer requirements and legislation, whilst ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Plan and organise your own workload and that of the catering team to meet given priorities.
Monitor, organise and maintain appropriate stock control levels in all areas including records of monthly stocktaking.
To maintain excellent standards within the kitchen to meet the needs of environmental health and to help maintain current hygiene rating of 5 star.
To assist in supervising and mentoring Kitchen Assistants, ensuring that the agreed standards and targets are maintained.
Respect people’s culture, beliefs and preferences in all aspects of their daily life and within the care service that is delivered. For example: Menu planning and food preparation, personal care routines and religious practices.
Promote effective waste management within the kitchen.
Safeguard people’s human rights at all times and ensure that the care and support provided, protects people and ensures their safety and well-being.
