Stage Engage provides professional sound, lighting, staging, and audio/visual equipment hire and technical services for events. Based in Brentford in London and Exeter in Devon, we specialise in conferences, corporate, and live events.
We are an established business with a reputation for bringing precise, professional, and creative solutions to our strong following of clients. We are also well known for providing an extremely knowledgeable service with a notably friendly, can-do attitude, which is a major reason our clients repeatedly come back to us.
We provide a service that we are very proud of, delivered by a growing team consisting of 8 employees and a vast network of freelancers and sub-contractors. The events we produce often bring new and exciting challenges, so we are regularly stretched to find unique solutions.
Who we need
An exceptional Audio-Visual Technician that plays a key role in taking the ideas and briefs of our clients and using your creativity and technical knowledge to create spectacular events. This position is based at our London office in Brentford, but you will be working closely with our Exeter branch and travelling throughout the country and potentially beyond. It’s important that you’re a team player with a passion for what you do, with the ability to see the bigger picture while also having an eye for detail, which is intrinsic to the Stage Engage culture. You must be able to effectively self-manage your own time, use your own initiative, and prioritise tasks. You’ll be a flexible problem solver that’s quick to learn and easily adaptable to managing the fresh challenges of the day.
You’ll have experience of working in events and, more specifically, with AV, lighting, sound, staging, and other areas of the technology involved in events. Most importantly, you are an enthusiastic person looking to make the most of the fun challenges involved in the events industry and wanting to be a part of the Stage Engage family.
Responsibilities
1. Designing, specifying, and operating sound, lighting, staging, rigging, and audio-visual solutions.
2. Being a Project Manager for events when assigned.
3. Working as part of the Technical Team to deliver events.
4. Attending site visits with clients and carrying out detailed site surveys.
5. Ensuring all health & safety controls are produced and adhered to in preparation of, and during, all events. This includes producing risk assessments and method statements.
6. Building trusted relationships with key suppliers to achieve the best possible prices on external elements needed for the proposals.
7. Representing the Stage Engage culture and values at every moment.

Qualifications & Essential Skills Required
1. 3+ years’ experience in event / AV projects or equivalent.
2. Technical knowledge and experience of working with AV / events technical equipment.
3. Excellent customer service and client handling.
4. Excellent communication skills.
5. Experience of managing costs/budgets and hitting deadlines.
6. Full UK Driver's license.
Desirable Skills
1. Experience of creating CAD drawings / using creative technology / Capture Lighting Design Software.
2. Experience of hire software & CRMs.
