Job Title: M&E Engineer
My client is a leading global provider in facilities management and is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their team based in Hemel Hempstead. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day management of the Data Centre and all critical and non‐critical Facility PPM's are carried out to schedule and also ensure completion of all reactive works requests.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Compliance with all Processes and procedures. Ensure site is fulfilling the contract requirements and following client procedures without fail.
2. Deliver & ensure all Critical Facility PPM's are carried out to schedule and ensure completion of all reactive works requests in line with SLA's.
3. Ensure maintenance is carried out in line with H&S procedures, using the permit to work system where applicable and action improvements identified during inspections and reviews.
4. Apply a risk-focused maintenance approach and operations of plant and systems in data centres/critical environments.
5. Ensure all critical client services, computer rooms, data networks, manufacturing, and revenue earning services meet client requirements.
6. Provide emergency response standby, call out, and escalate urgent issues. Respond to work interruptions, outages, or emergencies consistent with the SLA.
7. Support critical environment-related technical audits as required and directed by the line manager.
8. Complete records and logs required to demonstrate delivery of maintenance requirements.
9. Control and supervise contractors when required.
10. Liaise with the QHS specialist to ensure audit compliance as directed by line management.
11. Communicate high priority tasks and issues to end users, clients, and the management team.
12. Assist and enhance service delivery through best practice and the effective use of site systems and equipment.
13. Call out & regular paid overtime.
14. Become an Authorized Person LV and potential for HV.
Experience Required:
1. Must have experience in critical change management processes and experience working in a critical environment.
2. 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations & Electrical City & Guilds as a minimum; 2391‐52 Testing & Inspection would be an advantage.
3. Demonstrate good mechanical knowledge.
4. Team working and experience in customer-facing situations, good communicator with computer literacy.
5. Experience in managing sub‐contractors, running permit to work systems, and being accountable for others' safety.
