Job summary To practice as a Specialist Nurse in Dermatology, providing care to patients in an autonomous manner in nurse led clinics, assessing, diagnosing and making safe clinical judgements To act as a resource to support the GM biologic gainshare project. Main duties of the job To be responsible for co-ordinating the provision of continuous clinical care within allocated resources, providing a quality service and high clinical standards for all patients in your area To provide clinical leadership in Dermatology Support the Clinical Manager and Service Manager in service performance management To provide a specialised clinical and educational service to improve the management of patients with chronic skin conditions and improve their quality of life To be clinically responsible for the assessment and diagnosis of skin conditions in patients referred to the Dermatology Service To provide expert clinical care in the review, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment and care for patients referred with skin conditions to the Dermatology Service To provide appropriate treatment, specialist knowledge and education to patients and their carers to enable and promote self-care To act as a specialist resource to other health professionals by providing both support with individual patients and up to date, evidence-based knowledge via one to one and group education sessions.
