About the Role
We are looking for experienced paediatric nurses (or adult nurses with paediatric experience) to join our team in the Children’s Emergency Department at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. We are the Paediatric Major Trauma Centre (MTC) for the south west of England and provide care to over 45,000 sick and injured children from across the region each year.

We have full-time and part-time vacancies for enthusiastic and committed children’s nurses who have completed their preceptorship to join us and welcome informal visits to come and meet the team.

Important Note: This vacancy is not suitable for internationally educated nurses requiring to complete OSCE in order to register with the NMC.

Knowledge and Experience
* Broad knowledge and experience of clinical nursing practice within a hospital environment.
* Interest in the clinical area.
* Experience of teaching.
* Experience of taking charge.
Skills and Abilities
* Demonstrate competence in clinical skills relevant to the clinical area.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills, able to communicate effectively with patients, carers, and MDT.
* Competence in calculations for safe administration of medicines/fluids.
* Ability to take the lead, initiate and ensure appropriate action in response to the deteriorating patient.
* Clinical decision-making ability.

Qualifications and Training
* RSCN/ RN child branch (NMC registered) or equivalent.
* Current NMC registration.
